What is the Nebraska Department of Economic Development?

The lead economic development agency for Nebraska. The emphasis of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development is to grow and diversify the state’s economic base and bring new dollars into the state.

What is the Nebraska Department of Education?

A state agency whose responsibilities include statewide testing, special education, adult education, teacher certification, teacher preparation, state aid distribution, educational equity/instructional strategies, data collections, nutrition services, early childhood education, career education, school improvement and accreditation as well as curriculum instruction and innovation. The Department also oversees the operation of the Nebraska Center for the Education of Children Who are Blind or Visually Impaired and services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing as well as Vocational Rehabilitation services.

What is the Nebraska Department of Labor?

A state agency that administers the state’s workforce programs, including employment services and training opportunities through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, and unemployment insurance. The Department is also responsible for providing information to the public and private sectors on administering laws governing work conditions, employee safety, child labor issues, and labor market information.
